The person standing in front of court had an abbreviated version of the slogan in their twitter username. Although the slogan is a worldwide call for freedom and equality in all of historic Palestine , the state is accusing the Twitter-user of using a Hamas slogan, using the movement's charter in 2017 as "evidence". A new absurd attempt at repression by the State. If we look at what the charter states, we see that it doesn't contain the slogan word for word, but rather refers to the what the movement considers the liberation of Palestine: "Palestine, which extends from the River Jordan in the east to the Mediterranean in the west and from Ras al-Naqurah in the north to Umm al-Rashrash in the south, is an integral territorial unit. It is the land and the home of the Palestinian people. The expulsion and banishment of the Palestinian people from their land and the establishment of the Zionist entity therein do not annul the right of the Palestinian people to their entire land and do not entrench any rights therein for the usurping Zionist entity." The charter also states: "Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea." It's important to remember that the PLO's first charter of 1964 also states: "Palestine with its boundaries at the time of the British Mandate is a regional indivisible unit." And after the launch of the modern Palestinian revolution, the PLO's charter was rewritten in 1968 by all Palestinian militant factions at the time. The article "Palestine, with the boundaries it had during the British Mandate, is an indivisible territorial unit." remained unchanged. In other words, the slogan expresses not only a legitimate antizionist political position shared worldwide by the Palestine solidarity movement, but a principle enshrined in the Palestine liberation struggle as old as the struggle itself.
