Da due anni Anan Yaeesh si trova nelle carceri italiane su richiesta dell'entità sionista e, con Ali Irar e Mansour Doghmosh, sta subendo un processo che mostra ancora una volta la totale complicità dello stato italiano nel genocidio in corso e nella criminalizzazione della legittima resistenza palestinese. Nella scorsa udienza l'accusa ha chiesto 12 anni di carcere per Anan, 9 per Ali e 7 per Mansour. Tarek Dridi si trova nel carcere di Regina Coeli per aver partecipato alla manifestazione del 5 ottobre dell'anno scorso ed è stato condannato a 4 anni e 8 mesi con rito abbreviato il 14 aprile. Ahmad Salem, attualmente nel carcere di Rossano Calabro, è accusato di "terrorismo della parola" solamente per aver pubblicato un video in cui esortava i palestinesi e gli arabi in Cisgiordania e in Libano ad agire per Gaza. Mohamed Shahin è stato rinchiuso questo novembre nel CPR di Caltanissetta. Oltre alla revoca del permesso di soggiorno, il Ministero dell'Interno ha imposto su di lui un decreto di espulsione che comporta il rischio di essere deportato in Egitto, dove l'Imam di Torino è noto come dissidente del regime collaborazionista di Al-Sisi. I prigionieri politici sono in prima linea nella lotta al sionismo e all'imperialismo, ed è nostro dovere sostenerli. In un'Italia che criminalizza la Resistenza e mira a dividere e demoralizzare, l'unica risposta possibile è la lotta e la costituzione di un fronte unito contro la repressione. Shakespeare to Gaza is a humble artistic response to the genocide unfolding in Gaza. In November 2023, the ASHTAR Theatre in Ramallah put out a global call to artists to perform the Gaza Monologues written by their artists under siege. A searing monologue by Ali entitled From Gaza to Shakespeare is a deep yearning call for Shakespeare to ‘get up’ and inspire the people of Gaza at this time of darkness and despair. This performance is a response to this monologue. Our voices and bodies weaving together Shakespearian works with the Gaza Monologues as a motif of liberation and resistance.’ Shakespeare to Gaza, is a form of protest theatre drawing on the motif of liberation and resistance.
