Invitiamo tuttɜ lɜ solidalɜ a scendere in piazza il 14 con bandiere palestinesi, kuffyeh e simboli della lotta di liberazione della Palestina, per rivendicare collettivamente il diritto del movimento di lotta al fianco della Palestina di continuare a riempire le piazze della nostra regione e del nostro paese, contro ogni tentativo di repressione del dissenso e di criminalizzazione e normalizzazione della violenza e del genocidio. Poster made by @marrsillu Join the Leeds march for Palestine this Saturday 14th February, 12pm at MERRION STREET GARDENS (we will be at the gardens this weekend and next weekend due to the Valentine’s Day fair). Israel has killed many of the Palestinians’ loved ones. It is common for Palestinians to have lost tens and even hundreds of family members due to Israel’s bombs. More than 2,700 Palestinian families have been wiped from the civil registry. Despite the horrors of Israel’s genocide, the Palestinian spirit and love for life lives on. Palestinian couples have married, children have been born, and new families have been created during the genocide. These occasions have not come without their challenges however, as Israel has and continues to bomb the Palestinians as they celebrate life. Most recently, in December, Israel bombed Gaza Martyrs School in the Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City. This school had turned into a shelter for displaced families, and was going to be the home of the newly wedded Mustafa and Nesma. They were holding a wedding celebration next to the shelter in a tent, and had been waiting for more than 2 years to get married, as the genocide continued to delay their plans. 8 people were killed in this attack, including Mustafa’s eight year old nephew, Mohammad. In Leeds, we can rely on the Civic Hall to get married at, rely on Leeds General Infirmary to give birth in, rely on the housing registry to have a home for our new families. The Palestinians do not have such privileges. They must marry in tents, give birth in decimated hospitals, and live amongst the rubble. Thus, we invite everyone out for their Valentine’s day celebrations in Leeds to attend this march. Whilst we can enjoy the luxury of safety as we embark upon life with our loved ones, we must remember the Palestinians, who scarcely can, due to Israel’s genocide.
