Minimaal 264 telde de VN er. Gemaskerde kolonisten vallen mensen aan die olijven aan het oogsten zijn. Ze gooien stenen naar de olijfplukkers, slaan Palestijnen in elkaar, verwoesten de bomen en stelen de oogst. Het Israëlische leger kijkt toe of doet mee. Alleen dit oogstseizoen al raakten 140 Palestijnen gewond en werden meer dan 4200 bomen in 77 dorpen vernield. Ondertussen is Gaza half concentratiekamp, half woestenij. Er is nog steeds honger, nauwelijks gezondheidszorg, geen fatsoenlijke huisvesting voor de twee miljoen vluchtelingen. Israël breekt het staakt-het-vuren elke keer als het ze goed uitkomt, en onze leiders kijken weg. Het is de ergste schande ooit dat westerse landen alweer toekijken hoe een volk wordt vernietigd en niets doet. Of, nee, ze doen niet niets: ze werken eraan mee. Met hun wapendeals, en hun politieke en economische steun. Het is onacceptabel. En dus blijven mensen op tientallen stations in heel Nederland elke donderdag om 18:00 uur samenkomen om te protesteren tegen deze medeplichtigheid, tegen apartheid, bezetting en genocide. Ook in Deventer. Op 13 november is er op 18:00 uur weer een sit-in op het station. Samen laten we ons horen voor een vrij Palestina! Kom, als je kunt, en neem lege pannen mee om op te slaan (en oordoppen). De sit-in is van ons allemaal. Wil je iets zeggen? Een korte speech geven, een gedicht voorlezen, een lied zingen, iets delen dat je hebt gelezen, leuzen roepen in de megafoon? Kom naar de megafoon; je bent van harte welkom! The ongoing genocide in Palestine is a reminder of the global system of colonial oppression that continues to this day. The zionist state, backed by imperialist powers, has systematically dispossessed, displaced and murdered Palestinians for decades, using violence, apartheid policies and dehumanization as tools of conquest. In the face of these atrocities, the international community, particularly Western governments, has remained largely complicit with little to no meaningful action to hold Israel accountable. The United States, the European Union and the Netherlands in particular, continue to maintain close political and economic ties with israel, despite its blatant disregard for international law and human rights. The impunity with which Israel acts is not just a consequence of its military presence but also of the structural inequalities entrenched in the global order. The western world, driven by its colonial legacy and geopolitical interests in the region, has long shielded Israel from accountability, either through diplomatic vetoes or by turning a blind eye to all the int law violations. In this sense, the genocide in Palestine is not only a matter of Israeli aggression but a global injustice, sustained by a network of political, military and economic interests that prioritize power over human dignity. Particularly in the case of the Netherlands, the government continues to engage in trade relations, including arms sales and investments, which directly or indirectly fuel the violence against Palestinians. Decolonization cannot be achieved through words alone. It requires concrete actions: the dismantling of colonial alliances, the imposition of sanctions and the demand for accountability for the perpetrators and the enablers. The international community must wake up to its complicity and confront the uncomfortable truth that its inaction/action is perpetuating in the suffering of millions. Until the world recognizes this colonial violence for what it truly is and acts in solidarity with the Palestinian people, the cycle of oppression will continue untouched.

Το κύμα της παγκόσμιας φοιτητικής Ιντιφάντας έχει αφήσει το αποτύπωμά του και έχει καταφέρει να ταράξει τα ήρεμα νερά των ελληνικών επιχειρηματικών πανεπιστημίων τα οποία έχουν ενεργό ρόλο στη γενοκτονία του μαχόμενου παλαιστινιακού λαού. Και -ως συνήθως- ποιος είναι ο καλύτερος τρόπος να περιφρουρηθεί η επιχειρηματική αναδιάρθρωση του πανεπιστημίου που φέρνει συνεργασίες με το ισραηλινό κράτος & κεφάλαιο και την πολεμική του βιομηχανία; Η καταστολή και η ποινικοποίηση κάθε φωνής αντίστασης απέναντι στην ελληνοισραηλινή συμμαχία. Δύο βδομάδες μετά την εκκένωση της κατάληψης της Νομικής του ΕΚΠΑ σε αλληλεγγύη στην Παλαιστίνη, ήρθε η σειρά του ΕΜΠ να επιδείξει την αγάπη του για το δόγμα “νόμος και τάξη” στα πανεπιστήμια και κυρίως την αγάπη του για τα κέρδη που αποκομίζει από την ερευνητική συνέργεια με το Ισραήλ. Ας περάσουμε, όμως, στα πιο συγκεκριμένα. Την Παρασκευή 28/10 ο αγωνιστής φοιτητής Ζ.Μ. δικάστηκε σε πρώτο βαθμό με κατηγορία ότι έβαψε με σπρέι “Λευτεριά Στην Παλαιστίνη” και “Παύση κάθε συνεργασίας του ΕΜΠ με την Intracom Defence” στα κτήρια των ΗΜΜΥ του ΕΜΠ τον Μάιο του 2024. Την μέρα εκείνη, ο κοσμήτορας των ΗΜΜΥ, Π. Τσανάκας, εκτελώντας χρέη ρουφιάνου έβγαλε φωτογραφίες από την παρέμβαση ενάντια στη συνεργασία του ιδρύματος με το κράτος-δολοφόνο που πραγματοποιούνταν εκείνη την ώρα στη σχολή, τις έστειλε στον πρύτανη Χατζηγεωργίου και την επόμενη μέρα ΟΠΚΕ συνέλαβαν τον Ζ.Μ. κάτω από το σπίτι του. Στη δίκη του αγωνιστή φοιτητή, ο Τσανάκας, ως μάρτυρας κατηγορίας, μαζί τον δικηγόρο του ΕΜΠ, που χρησιμοποιείται για πρώτη φορά σε τέτοιου είδους δίκη, οδήγησαν στο να κριθεί ο Ζ.Μ. ένοχος και να τιμωρηθεί με 14 μήνες φυλάκιση χωρίς αναστολή.
