Water, electricity, medicine, and food continue to be used as weapons. As millions struggle to survive, the German government continues to echo Israel’s propaganda line. Israël heeft van West-Gaza een soort concentratiekamp gemaakt. Een plek waar twee miljoenen Palestijnen samengedreven zijn, zonder genoeg te eten, zonder gezondheidszorg, zonder fatsoenlijk onderdak. Nog steeds laat Israël onvoldoende noodhulp toe. Mensen hebben honger, er is een tekort aan alles. Tenten en noodwoningen komen er helemaal niet in - en de winter komt eraan. Een journalist uit Gaza noemde het 'engineered despair'. En om dit concentratiekamp heen bouwt Israël een barricade van betonblokken en prikkeldraad. Achter de barricade ligt bezet Oost-Gaza, waar ooit Palestijnen woonden en graan op de akkers stond, en nu niets meer is dan verwoesting, stof en dood. Dit is geen vrede. Het is niet eens een wapenstilstand. Want rondom die barricades schiet Israël op alles dat beweegt, en geregeld bombarderen ze plekken - huizen, tenten, vluchtelingenkampen - in West-Gaza. Als ze daar na een tijdje weer even mee ophouden, zeggen onze leiders en media: nou, gelukkig houdt de vrede stand. Welke vrede? De genocide gaat gewoon door, maar dan langzamer, beter gepland, omgeven met nettere woorden, en meer uit het zicht. Maar wij zien het! En wij zeggen: ook de langzame etnische zuivering van Palestina is onacceptabel! Aanstaande donderdag 6 november is er daarom om 18:00 uur weer een sit-in op station Deventer. Kom, als je kunt, en neem lege pannen mee om op te slaan (en oordoppen). De sit-in is van ons allemaal. Wil je iets zeggen? Een korte speech geven, een gedicht voorlezen, een lied zingen, iets delen dat je hebt gelezen, leuzen roepen in de megafoon? Kom naar de megafoon; je bent van harte welkom!
