In questa giornata i porti diventano un vero fronte di conflitto: non una ricorrenza simbolica, ma una scelta precisa per interrompere il lavoro e fermare la guerra. La giornata è stata proclamata da cinque organizzazioni sindacali dei porti: ENEDEP (Grecia), LAB (Paesi Baschi), Liman-İş (Turchia), ODT (Marocco) e USB Lavoro Privato (Italia), rompendo l’isolamento nazionale e affermando una pratica internazionalista concreta. Dai moli di Bilbao, Tangeri, Pireo, Mersin, Genova, Livorno, Trieste, Ancona, Civitavecchia fino ai grandi scali del Nord Europa come Amburgo e Brema, la protesta attraversa i nodi logistici del commercio globale. Iniziative di solidarietà nascono anche in città portuali degli Stati Uniti. Questa convergenza colpisce dove il sistema è più vulnerabile: nella circolazione delle merci e delle armi. Il cuore della giornata è lo sciopero, non come testimonianza, ma come strumento di forza concreta. Lo abbiamo visto chiaramente il 22 settembre e il 3 ottobre, quando blocchi coordinati di settori chiave hanno fermato intere filiere produttive, dalla logistica all’industria bellica. Bloccare porti e trasporti dimostra che l’economia di guerra può essere inceppata: senza lavoratori e flussi, l’apparato militare resta senza gambe. La guerra non è un destino inevitabile: è una scelta politica sostenuta dal lavoro e dal profitto di pochi. La lotta per la liberazione della Palestina passa anche da qui. La vera solidarietà non è astratta o simbolica: è un atto materiale, che implica costi reali, interruzione dei flussi economici e una presa di posizione chiara contro l’occupazione e lo sfruttamento. È un gesto che unisce la dignità del lavoro alla giustizia sociale e all’autodeterminazione dei popoli. Quando le istituzioni tacciono o collaborano, risponde chi lavora, studia e vive la precarietà. Il potere reale non sta nei palazzi, ma nella capacità collettiva di fermare ciò che produce morte.

We would also love you to join us this Saturday any time between 10am and 3pm to make your own response to the exhibition. It will be very casual. All materials will be provided for free.
