Il genocidio continua e ci troviamo difronte al rischio concreto di un allargamento del conflitto da parte di Israele e del conseguente pericolo di deflagrazione di una guerra globale. Dopola determinata mobilitazione del 5 Ottobre che ha rotto i divieti posti dal governo italiano complice di Israele, a cui è seguita la altrettanto partecipata manifestazione del 12 ottobre e, in continuità con la grande assemblea del 9 Novembre che ha visto l’adesione di più di 240 realtà, crediamo sia importante proseguire il percorso convocando un’assemblea cittadina. Davanti alla atroce realtà del genocidio in atto e al rischio di foschi scenari da conflitto globale, è tempo di unità! Il percorso scelto con la convocazione di un’assemblea nazionale prova ad andare sin dalla sua genesi in questa direzione ed è stata, a nostro parere, una scelta non più rinviabile e che ha funzionato nell’allargamento, convinti come siamo che oggi occorra perseguire il massimo delle convergenze. Obiettivo perseguibile solo con la convocazione collettiva e condivisa di manifestazioni e mobilitazioni, attraverso un percorso inclusivo che tenga conto delle varie sensibilità, ferme restando le parole d’ordine comuni che abbiamo riportato nella convocazione dell’assemblea nazionale. Il destino della Palestina è in mano alle/ai palestinesi che ci vivono, noi abbiamo il compito di partecipare in maniera sempre più incisiva e allargata alla solidarietà internazionale. Non si possono porre limiti alla partecipazione delle organizzazioni palestinesi e solidali operanti in Italia. Per la Palestina, per i suoi martiri, per il Libano, è fondamentale che scendano in piazza sempre più persone, sia coloro che hanno chiaro il ruolo criminale di Israele e dei suoi alleati, sia chi si schiera con la Palestina perché consapevole che a Gaza sta morendo l’umanità. In support of our people’s steadfastness in Gaza, and as part of our international fundraiser ‘The People Stand with Gaza’, we are announcing a two-day art fundraiser titled ‘The Birds Shall Return: The Spirit of Sumud & Return’ on November 21st and 22nd at Atelier Next Door. Our people in Palestine continue to remain steadfast in the midst of ongoing Zionist aggression. Our role is to support our people’s sumud; honour our people’s martyrdom; and uplift our righteous cause. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards our $1,000,000 goal to provide essential services including shelter, food, clean water, medical and psychological aid, and children’s programming for our people in Gaza.
