La population est affamée en raison du blocus qui empêche l’aide humanitaire d’entrer, bombardée sans discernement et soumise à des déplacements perpétuels. La souffrance mentale et physique est indicible. Lorsque ce ne sont pas des parents qui voient mourir leurs enfants, ce sont des enfants qui voient mourir leurs parents, leurs frères et leurs sœurs. Le système de santé palestinien et maintenant libanais, est systématiquement attaqué et démantelé dans le plus profond mépris du droit international humanitaire. Le ciblage et la destruction délibérée d’hôpitaux, le manque de soignant.e.x.s et le blocus sur le matériel médical et les médicaments empêche la population d’avoir accès à des soins élémentaires et urgents. 89% des structures de santé ont été détruites, plus de 1000 soignant.e.x.s ont été tués et 300 sont détenus dans les prisons israéliennes. Nos professions soignantes sont régies par une volonté de lutte contre la maladie et la souffrance. Ce sont l’entraide et l’empathie qui nous mobilisent. Ainsi, en tant que soignant.e.x.s, nous ne pouvons donc pas nous taire devant une telle tentative d’ensevelissement de la dignité humaine sous un déferlement de destruction, de sang et de mort.
