We willen dat Vervoerregio Amsterdam het contract met EBS verbreekt. Meer Plus: meer apartheid, minder mensenrechten Sinds december 2023 heeft EBS uitgebreid met busvervoer in de Zaanstreek, onder de naam Meer Plus. Ze reden daarvoor al geruime tijd in Waterland. Maar niet alleen daar worden reizigers gedwongen in de apartheidsbussen van EBS te stappen! In verschillende andere regio's in het land zijn ze ook al onder verschillende namen aanwezig. Daarom zijn we op 17 oktober in de Zaanstreek begonnen met het startschot voor een landelijke campagne tegen EBS. Bloed kleeft aan EBS-banden Egged is het grootste openbaar vervoerbedrijf van Israël. In Nederland is het actief als Egged Bus Systems (EBS). Egged verzorgt openbaar vervoer voor kolonisten tussen bezet Jeruzalem en de illegale nederzettingen op de Westelijke Jordaanoever. Dit betekent concreet apartheid: de bussen zijn niet bedoeld voor Palestijnen. Daarom staat het op de VN-sanctielijst van bedrijven die profiteren van en bijdragen aan de kolonisatie van Palestijns land. Illegale bezetting In juli 2024 oordeelde het internationaal Gerechtshof dat Israël zich schuldig maakt aan illegale bezetting, annexatie en segregatie. De VN-Mensenrechtenraad beschrijft openbaar vervoer als cruciaal voor het bestaan en de instandhouding van de illegale nederzettingen. Vervoerregio Amsterdam: met zo'n bedrijf sluit je als Vervoerregio toch geen contract?! Bij de vergadering van de Vervoerregio is er gelegenheid om 2 minuten in te spreken. Geïnteresseerd?
