In May, an overwhelming majority of FNV members at the UvA voted for FNV to negotiate with the University board for their right to demonstrate and to cut ties with Israeli institutions complicit in genocide. In July, it became clear that the CvB refuses to negotiate, and FNV declared it's time to take action. On 26 november FNV members working at the UvA voted to strike with an overwhelming majority (84%) between 9-12 December. They stated they want to halt working because the right to demonstrate is not respected at the UvA and because they want to be sure that the UvA does not maintain ties with institutions that are complicit in grave human rights violations.
