Street) for a reading of Professor Refaat Alareer’s poetry and prose. Prof Refaat was murdered in Gaza by Israeli bombardment on December 6, 2023 almost two years ago. His poem “If I Must Die” has been translated into dozens of languages and read around the world to honour his life and memory, as an act of outage and resistance against attempts to extinguish Palestinian life and culture. Check out his co edited books “Gaza Writes Back” (Just World Books, 2014), “Gaza Unsilenced” (Just World Books, 2015), and more recently “If I Must Die: Poetry and Prose” (OR Books, 2024).
