Join us on November 27, 2025 Since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on Oct 7, 2023, the world has witnessed the heroic resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza as the zionist entity unleashed its genocidal campaign of death, destruction and displacement. We have watched as men, women and children have been martyred and whole families erased; we have seen hospitals, schools, homes, and crucial infrastructure utterly destroyed; and we have viewed millions forced to move repeatedly and endured deliberate starvation … all at the hands of the zionist colonial forces backed by imperialist material and political support, while Arab reactionary regimes have stood by silently. The magnitude of the carnage is horrific, but for Palestinians, the experience is not new. This evening of film and discussion will focus on two films that capture zionist attacks on Palestinian refugee camps, and the survival, steadfastness and resistance of those who remained. The first film, “They Do Not Exist”, is a 1974 short documentary by Mustafa Abu Ali, one of the founders of Palestinian cinema, that creatively examines the zionist destruction of a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, the connection between the camp and the resistance fighters, and the survival and resilience of the people. The second film is the classic “Jenin, Jenin”, a documentary by Mohammad Bakri that focuses on the aftermath of the Battle of Jenin (2002) during the Al-Aqsa (Second) Intifada. In the wake of terrible devastation, the people of Jenin talk about the horrors of the assault, but also express their resolute determination to remain on their land. Both films resonate in many ways with what we are witnessing today, and will no doubt generate much discussion as we link these historical events with current struggles for liberation and return. We hope to see you there.

Since the ceasefire announcement, Israel has massacred hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza, attacked the West Bank, and continued its abuse, torture and killing of Palestinian prisoners. A two-way arms embargo is our movement’s unchanged demand, the only guarantee of ending Israel’s mass murder of Palestinians and systematic theft of our land. So long as weapons and aid flow to Israel, the Zionist occupation will carry on with its genocidal, expansionist project in the region. On November 29th, we take to the streets. From wherever we are, we will demand an arms embargo now. We will continue confronting Zionism and holding those in power to account for as long as it takes. The struggle continues this November 29 — we’ll see you on the streets! Bay and Front Street November 29 2 PM
