Hastings St., Vancouver, BC V5K 126 https://maps.app.goo.gl/MwxQUyffPyQRF822A 7 December 2025 #Repost @tamamfinepalestiniancuisine In collaboration with our friend Harry Stefanakis, we are launching a monthly poetry saloon at the restaurant. One Sunday every month we will meet to celebrate poetry of resistance. Poetry for Resistance is an evening of voices gathered to remember that words can stand their ground. In every era, poetry has carried defiance, tenderness, and truth — resisting erasure, silence, and despair. This salon is not only about protest, but also about resilience: the refusal to forget, the courage to imagine otherwise, and the quiet insistence that beauty itself can be resistance. We come together to share poems — written, spoken, and remembered — that rise against what diminishes us, and affirm what sustains us. This is an open invitation: to listen, to speak, to resist through language. If you like to share your poetry, or someone else’s poetry, please send email to [email protected] We hope to see you. @drharrypsychologist @steve.collis #gaza #poetryofresistance @poetry_of_resistance @kwiis.hamilton @dakotabearofficial

22442 Ottawa, Canada CBC BUILDING (181 QUEEN ST) https://maps.app.goo.gl/on1aJkk3YnorS5zt8 8 December 2025 #Repost @palsolidarityottcentre —— We're holding a protest and sit-in outside the CBC Ottawa building (181 Queen St), on Monday December 8, 12PM-2PM, to hold our national public broadcaster accountable and demand they cover the latest Arms Embargo Report -- Exposing the U.S. Loophole: how Canadian F-35 parts and Explosives Reach Israel. Why we're taking action: The report, released on November 18, exposes a pipeline of ongoing shipments of explosives and military aircraft parts from Canada to the US and then on to lsrael. The government hasn't been able to refute the claims. In conjunction, Parliament is currently debating Bill C-233. If passed, it would take real steps toward ending Canada's export of military goods and technology to Israel via the U.S.. but the public has barely heard about it. When a national public broadcaster ignores a report with clear, irrefutable evidence of Canada's war crimes, people must step in to make the issue visible. Closing loopholes that allow Canadian military exports to keep flowing to Israel requires public pressure, and public pressure requires public information.  That's why we're gathering where the media can't ignore us, outside the CBC headquarters in Ottawa. When you and your comrades show up in numbers, we shift what is possible. CBC! Tell the Story! Canada Arms Human Rights Violators What you can do: Bring people with you — community members, coworkers, neighbours, friends. Share this call on your social channels. Come ready to chant, hold signs, and take up space! Learn more and take action to close the loophole enabling military exports to flow from Canada to Israel via the U.S. at: armsembargonow.ca/nomoreloopholes Image Description in the comments.

TOMORROW - SNAP ACTION  - BOYCOTT EUROVISION TOMORROW MORNING (Tuesday 9 December), join us outside the Adelaide ABC building to demand SBS withdraw from broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest, and urge them to join the global campaign opposing Israel’s genocide of Palestine. meet outside the ABC building (85 North East Road COLLINSWOOD 5081) 8:30am, Tuesday 9 December bring signs, instruments, music — have a dance, wear your keffiyehs, & show your support! In the wake of the announcement that Israel has been cleared to compete in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest — despite the competition excluding Russia in 2022 due to their invasion of Ukraine — four nations have withdrawn, and audiences worldwide are calling a boycott in solidarity with Palestine. SBS states that it “is passionate about understanding our audiences’ needs,” “doesn’t tolerate inequality,” “doesn’t accept the status quo,” and “holds each other to account.” Broadcasting this competition — without firmly opposing genocide, refusing to boycott platforms that enable genocidal states, or showing solidarity with the people of Palestine — stands in conflict with those values. OUR DEMANDS: - We call upon the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to disqualify Israel from Eurovision until it ceases all violations of international law and human rights, and complies with all relevant UN resolutions and World Court rulings - Immediately withdraw Australia’s participation in Eurovision, joining the broadcasters of Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain - SBS to withdraw their decision to broadcast Eurovision in alignment with their values We acknowledge this rally is taking place on the stolen, unceded land of the Kaurna people. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present. It always was and always will be Aboriginal land. To stand in solidarity with Palestine, we must acknowledge Australia’s own (and ongoing) colonial history.
