It explores themes of loss, trauma, and the quest for justice. We follow, among others, Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, and Israeli journalist Amira Hass. After the film we dive in to the question of normalization, a concept that describes how the zionist state is normalized both through economic and diplomatic ties with other countries, but also through cultural productions such as documentaries. Dalia Kababo and Sami Huraini (online from Massafer Yatta) will be in conversation about how the movie to some extent can be seen to inscribe itself into such forms of normalization. The talk will also touch upon some of the themes presented in the movie from the perspectives of two palestinians, one living in Denmark and one living in Palestine. Nelle ultime settimane in questo paese si sono rotti gli argini: le mobilitazioni contro il genocidio in Palestina hanno visto la partecipazione di centinaia di migliaia di persone dopo anni di letargia. In particolare, gli scioperi generali del 22 settembre e 3 ottobre hanno avuto la capacità di paralizzare il Paese sotto lo slogan semplice ma efficace del “BLOCCHIAMO TUTTO”, producendo il blocco concreto di porti, stazioni, autostrade, tangenziali, facoltà universitarie e scuole e lasciando intravedere anche una possibilità concreta di ricomposizione di classe tra studenti e lavoratori. Mentre le mobilitazioni continuano, proponiamo un momento di dibattito e formazione per riannodare i fili che uniscono la resistenza palestinese di ieri a quella di oggi e per ragionare sulle vicende attuali - in primis il cosiddetto accordo di pace - nel nuovo contesto internazionale. A due anni dall’operazione “Diluvio Al Aqsa” e a seguito alle enormi mobilitazioni contro il genocidio in Palestina in tutto il mondo, il “piano di pace” proposto da Trump ha raggiunto un cessate il fuoco che sembra essere molto debole e andrà verificato nei prossimi giorni. Una tregua che rappresenta una necessità urgente, quella di fermare il genocidio, ma che sicuramente rappresenta un ulteriore passaggio del colonialismo occidentale in Medio Oriente. Israele ha obbedito ancora una volta - probabilmente senza entusiasmo - al padrone nordamericano, che continua a giocare la sua partita nell’area utilizzando l’entità sionista come fedele vassallo ma anche grazie all’asservimento di gran parte degli Stati arabi. Per comprendere meglio quanto sta accadendo riteniamo sia opportuno allargare il campo d’osservazione, tanto in termini temporali quanto geografici. Anzitutto crediamo necessario ripercorrere almeno gli ultimi 30 anni di storia, andando a ricostruire il percorso che dagli accordi di Oslo, passando per la seconda Intifada, l’affermazione di Hamas a Gaza e il 7 ottobre ci porta allo scenario attuale.
