Seif lavorava come educatore al liceo Chateaubriand di Roma da cui è stato licenziato per alcuni commenti e post dove esprimeva supporto alla resistenza palestinese. Nei confronti di Seif è stato aperto un procedimento con sospensione e revoca del permesso di soggiorno. Dopo una perquisizione in casa Seif è stato internato nel CPR di Ponte Galeria, dal quale è uscito dopo 4 giorni di mobilitazioni nazionali; il giudice della convalida ha infatti sentenziato che non ci fossero i presupposti per la detenzione. Tuttavia la battaglia di Seif non è terminata: giovedì 17 ottobre, a Milano, si terrà l’udienza per la revoca della protezione, che ne comporterebbe la deportazione. Seif non ha avuto paura, pur conoscendo i rischi a cui andava incontro, rimanendo fedele alla storia di liberazione del suo popolo contro la brutale colonizzazione francese, esprimendo posizioni chiare contro il genocidio in atto da parte dell’entità sionista nei confronti del popolo palestinese a Gaza. Il caso di Seif è l'esempio lampante di come la nostra lotta si inserisce in un quadro più ampio dove la repressione tocca tutti e tutte: il DDL1660 - in discussione al Senato - porta avanti una logica repressiva e securitaria per criminalizzare il conflitto sociale e il dissenso in ogni sua forma, inclusa quella della solidarietà con persone migranti e persone private della libertà nei CPR. Oggi più che mai bisogna fare una scelta, c'è chi è disposto a perdere tutto per la verità e la giustizia, mentre altri, pieni di benefici e privilegi sopra al collo, hanno paura di stare dalla parte giusta della storia. Seif ci ricorda che quando lottiamo per la nostra libertà, stiamo lottando per la libertà di tutti e tutte; quando lottiamo per la libertà di tutti e tutte, stiamo lottando per la nostra libertà. Questo giovedì 17/10, alle ore 11:00, ci troveremo in presidio davanti al Tribunale di Milano in Corso di Porta Vittoria per esprimere tutta la nostra solidarietà e vicinanza a Seif. LIBERTÀ PER SEIF
