Auch in diesem Jahr blicken wir bestürzt und voller Trauer auf die anhaltende Gewalt in Palästina und den andauernden Genozid in Gaza, wo Kinder verhungern und ganze Familien ausgelöscht werden. Die aktuelle Lage gibt wenig Hoffnung und erschüttert uns zutiefst. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass wir gerade jetzt zusammenkommen, uns gegenseitig stärken, unsere Kultur leben und gemeinsam ein Zeichen der Erinnerung und Solidarität setzen. Gezeigt wird ein eindrücklicher Dokumentarfilm über ein ehemals palästinensisches Dorf und ein oft verdrängtes Kapitel Israels „Unabhängigkeitskriegs“ von 1948, bei dem Palästinensische Dörfer ausgelöscht und Menschen vertrieben und massakriert wurden. Durch Zeitzeug:innen-Interviews und Archivmaterial wird sichtbar, wie umkämpft historische Wahrheit ist – und wie tief Erinnerung, Schweigen und Verdrängung auch heute noch wirken.
