In de plaats van hen tegemoet te komen in hun eisen, stuurde rector Herwig Leirs gisteren de deurwaarder op hun af. Binnen twee uur tijd moesten zij de Stadscampus verlaten. Opnieuw werden activisten die hun stem laten horen tegen genocide, het zwijgen opgelegd. Met excuses zoals 'veiligheid' en 'overlast' vluchten zowel het stadsbestuur als de universiteit weg van hun medeplichtigheid. Onze eisen blijven luid en duidelijk: breek de banden, nu! Afspraak maandagavond om 19uur op de Ossenmarkt. ENGLISH: We stand with the students: meet us at 19:00 on Monday evening at Ossenmarkt! Last week the students occupied the university again with a clear demand: an academic boycott, now! Instead of addressing their demands, Rector Herwig Leirs sent bailiffs after them yesterday. They were ordered to leave the Campus within two hours. Once again, activists speaking out against genocide have been silenced. Using excuses like “safety” and “nuisance,” both the city government and the university are shirking their complicity. Our demands remain loud and clear: break the ties, now!
